Two Brothers Set To Face Off In Kiev Major CIS Dota 2 Regional Qualifiers

Two Brothers Set To Face Off In Kiev Major CIS Dota 2 Regional Qualifiers

The world of eSports competition has over the years seen many big and long lasting rivalries among individual players. However, the situation in which a player plays against his brother has not been seen that often in eSports events. The Kiev Major CIS Dota 2 regional qualifiers, however, is going to bring us exactly one such situation.

The Kiev Major CIS regional qualifiers will see Yaroslav ‘Pikachu’ Vasilenko and his team playing against his older brother Bogdan ‘Iceberg’ Vasilenko and his team for the top position at the group. The Kiev Major CIS is an exciting Dota 2 tournament, and after the open qualifiers in which Yaroslav ‘Pikachu’ Vasilenko and his team managed to take the first place, Vasilenko brothers will now have to play it out and find out which one of them moves on to the grand finals of the tournament.

H1ve Meets Team Spirit

This has been quite a big achievement for Yaroslav ‘Pikachu’ Vasilenko and his H1ve team and their path to the very end of the qualifiers has been turbulent. While the big story of two brothers facing off in the final match of the qualifiers has captured all the headlines, there were many other stories that brought H1ve to this position. The Kiev Major CIS Dota 2 regional qualifiers will see several H1ve’s players face off against a rivaling team whose members they used to be in the past.

H1ve have been looking for an opportunity to prove themselves for a long time, and that opportunity has come with the Kiev Major CIS Dota 2 tournament. For them, this will be the opportunity to prove their worth and in some way to show their previous teams what are they are missing.

Bogdan ‘Iceberg’ Vasilenko currently plays for Team Spirit, and according to many they are one of the favorites for the title at this event, but their first step towards that will have to be defeating the H1ve which will not be that easy even though H1ve’s previous results would not suggest them to be a worthy adversary for Team Spirit. None of the teams from this region have received a direct invitation for the final of the Kiev Major CIS which means that all the best teams from this regional will have to fight hard for the single place in the grand finals of the Kiev event.

Vasilienko Brothers Face Off For A Place In The Finals

The rivalry between Vasilenko brothers has made these dota 2 regional qualifiers even more interesting, and the fact that all the best teams from the region will actually participate in the qualifiers has probably been a bit neglected because of that. Realistically, Iceberg Vasilenko and his Team Spirit will have significant advantage over H1ve in these qualifiers but the fact that H1ve has managed to reach the closed qualifiers is a very big success in itself considering what they had to overcome to actually get an opportunity to be in this kind of situation.

Wins at the amateur eSports tournaments in Russia, changes in team’s roster and the lack of any opportunity at significant results made Yaroslav ‘Pikachu’ Vasilenko and his team, H1ve, want a place in these qualifiers even more, and for what is worth, their time seems to have finally come.
