TnC Set To Start New Season With Unchanged Roster

Vedran Ostojic | August 27, 2017 | Dota 2 | No Comments

The period after The International is always reserved for making changes in the teams which are part of the teams’ effort to prepare as best as possible for the upcoming Dota 2 season. Many teams will make significant changes in their rosters while some will make only one. However, there is hardly any team will be sticking with their current roster for the second season in a row.

Not that long ago, Virtus.pro announced that they will be sticking with their team for the upcoming season as well and they became one of the rare teams to do that. However, they are not alone as yesterday, Filipino Dota 2 team, TnC Pro Team also announced that they will also be sticking with their current roster for the upcoming season as well.

Post-TI6 Problems

TnC Pro Team became widely popular with their performances at The International 6 when they displayed great game that led them to finish the tournament in the 7-8th place. However, since then, things started to change for worse for this Filipino organization as they lost three members of their team.

During the Post-TI6 Shuffle, Nico ‘eyyou’ Barcelon, Jimmy ‘DeMoN’ Ho, and Marc Polo ‘Raven’ Luis Fausto all left the team in order to join Fnatic who also had a very good result at the International because they finish the tournament in the 4th place. Since then, TnC had a lot of problems when it comes to results and all those problems were caused by the instability of their roster and more or less the following year has been a very disappointing for this team.

The start of 2017 was the last opportunity for this team to get back in the game and they managed to do that by bringing in Muriel ‘Kipspul’ Huisman as their head coach. After Kipspul took over the team, she looked for a player that might be the change they need and eventually he settled on Theeban ‘1437’ Siva. 1437 would join TnC Pro Team after the Kiev Major and immediately after he joined, the team recorded much better results.

Coming back where they belong

With 1437 in their team, TnC had a very good run in the next couple of months. In that period, they managed to finish in the second place in China as well as in the third place at the Galaxy Battles in China soon after that. After those two tournaments, Kipspul continued to work on making the team as better as possible which eventually paid off in the qualifiers for The International 7 where TnC finish in the first place.

TnC managed to finish in the top five in the group stage of the International 7 and because of that, they started the playoffs in the upper brackets. However, they were eliminated by LFY in the upper and by OG in the lower brackets of the tournament and eventually they finished the tournament in the 9-12th place which is not as good as the year before.

Even though their Dota 2 roster will remain intact for the upcoming season, they have made a change when it comes to their head coach because Kipspul announced that she has left the team which left many fans worrying what will happen with the team in the upcoming period.
