Some Big Announcements for Global League of Legends Events in 2017

There have been a lot of announcements regarding the global schedule for this year when it comes to League of Legends. More and more tournaments are going to be held in different corners of the world, with the goal of expanding the game into previously uncharted and untapped regions where there is a lot of scope for growth.

This will see big tournaments taking place in places like China and Brazil. This also means that existing fans of the game from across the word will get more of an equal chance to be able to attend one of these great League of Legends events in the flesh.

There are no longer separate Wildcard events in operation, there is going to be space for all 13 regions to compete in the top competitions in 2017.

There is also going to be a different seeding system implemented which will look back on previous results from Worlds and MSI events from the previous two renditions.

The tournament format is also going to be tweaked for the two biggest League of Legends  events of the year, with a Play-in stage taking place before the group stages of the events.

This year the Mid-Season Invitational will be hosted in Brazil which has been a hub for a rapidly growing population of the game. Just like with all of their sports, the Brazilians fans are extremely passionate, vocal and will be out in force to support any home players that will be involved in this League of Legends event.

Worlds will be held in China for the first time ever, so it will be like something we have never seen before with a League of Legends event.
