Rivalcade Overwatch Rumble

In the last couple of years, Overwatch has become one of the most popular eSports competitions in the world. It is no wonder that more and more Overwatch tournaments are being organized all over the world each year. The latest Overwatch tournament that was announced is the Rivalcade Overwatch Rumble Series which is set to feature a five figure prize pool – $10,000 to be precise. The tournament announcement has also said that eight of the best Overwatch teams have automatically been given the invitations for this tournament. Those eight teams are LG Evil, Splyce Gaming, Rogue, EnVyUs, Immortals, Selfless, compLexity Gaming and Cloud 9.

According to the announcement, the winners of this tournament will receive $3,000 while the runner-ups will be awarded $2,000. The team that finishes this tournament in the third place will receive the award of $1,000. The Rivalcade Overwatch Rumble Series will feature no more than 64 Overwatch teams. They will be competing in the qualifiers rounds. Only eight of those 64 teams will secure their place in the main event of this tournament.

Scott O’Leary, the founder and current CEO of Rivalcade said in a statement that they are thrilled to be bringing all the best Overwatch teams into one place. They will compete against one another. The competition is also providing a chance for smaller organizations to prove themselves by playing these amazing teams. While this is by no means one of the biggest Overwatch tournaments out there, there is no doubt that it will attract plenty of fans. Many great teams will be trying to win a place in it.

The Competition Format

As we have already mentioned, 64 teams will be fighting to get their opportunity to play at the main event. The qualifiers rounds will be held on April 18th. The main event of the Rivalcade Overwatch Rumble Series will be held on April 23rd. The double-elimination, as well as the Grand Finals of this competition, will be held on April 24th. Eight directly invited teams and eight teams that secure their spots through qualifiers will be divided into four groups. They will be playing their matches in best-of-three series. Two teams from each group that finish in the top two positions will advance to the Sunday double-elimination part of the tournament. It will also be played in best-of-three series. However, the Grand Final match of this tournament will be played in best-of-five series.

The Rivalcade Overwatch Rumble Series is the new online Overwatch competition. It will be held on a monthly basis and in which eight best Overwatch teams will participate. For those fans who are interested in watching the matches played in this tournament, the good news is that the organizers have secured the streaming of those matches which will be done by Twitch. However, broadcasting of this event will also be available on Rivalcade TV. It will increase the number of people that will be watching this tournament.

In the end, it seems that Overwatch is doing exactly the right thing by having these types of tournaments. These tournaments will allow Overwatch eSports scene to grow even more. Probably it will become a permanent member of the eSports community even more than it already is.
