Post-TI7 Shuffle: Ana Leaves OG

Vedran Ostojic | August 22, 2017 | Dota 2 | No Comments

OG has made Dota 2 history by winning four Dota 2 Major tournaments including the last two in a row. Because of that, whenever OG appears at a certain tournament, the expectations are more than big. The same thing happened when they appeared at The International 7. Even though the last couple of months have not been good for OG at all because of their results from that period, OG was still one of the main contenders for the title at the International.

Unfortunately for OG, they did not have a good tournament and they started the main event of the tournament in the lower bracket and their run did not last long. In order to avoid these kinds of disappointing results in the future, OG decided to join the post-TI shuffle as they have announced that Anathan ‘ana’ Pham will be leaving the team.

Surprise Surprise

Their performance at The International 7 might have been a bit disappointing but rarely anyone expected that OG will be making that significant change in their roster. Anathan ‘ana’ Pham is a 17-year-old player from Australia and on many occasions, he was recognized as one of most talented players in the entire world. Even though he is just 17, ana’s contribution to the team’s achievement was instrumental for OG winning Boston and Kiev Major in a row.

Ana has been a member of OG for one year as OG sign a contract with him after The International 6 and in only one year in the team, he has become one of the most important players for the team. Back in 2016, OG also decided to rebuild their team after the International and as a part of that effort, ana together with Jesse ‘JerAx’ Vainikka and Gustav ‘s4’ Magnusson joined the team.

Before joining OG, ana was playing for Chinese side, Invictus Gaming and he was a stand-in player for Luo ‘Ferrari_430’ Feichi who managed to win the trophy at The International back in 2012. Throughout his entire career, ana has been showing growing talent and Dota 2 skills and whoever manages to sign this player will be having a lot of success.

Possible New Departures

Many experts believe that ana’s departure from the team will not be the only departure from OG this month. As we have said, ana joined the team together with s4 and JerAx and even though those two players have contributed a lot to OG winning all those Major titles, many believe that they too will be leaving the team in this post-TI shuffle.

OG has officially confirmed only that ana has left the team and they have not said anything about other possible departures from the team. Besides that, they have said that they will not be rushing with making a decision which player might be joining the team because the season is over and there is enough time for them to find the right player to replace ana.

On the other hand, ana will not be without a team for much longer because being one of the most talented young players in the world is a guaranteed ticket for signing a contract with some of the world’s best Dota 2 teams.
