The new patch for Overwatch that was introduced at the Uprising did not only improve the skins and make it look even better but rather it has also brought changes to some other aspects of the game. Here, we will be dealing with those changes and how the new patch will affect the gameplay. The new Overwatch patch improved the balance of several heroes. The fans have been asking for these heroes in the last couple of months.
Besides that, the new patch has also introduced a new playable event, tough with limited time. This, new, playable event will feature heroes such as Mercy, Tracer, Torbjorn, Reinhardt and several others going against the omnics. The new Uprising Game Mode will require their players to use the heroes of their choice. They will fight against one wave after another of the enemies for completing the objective of defeating the extremist omnics.
Change in Heroes’ Balance
The new changes in balance mostly refer to the heroes Lucio and Orisa. The damage that Lucio makes with his sonic amplifier has been increased by 25 percent. The speed of the projectile has also been increased by 40 to 50 percent depending on the circumstances. Besides that, the area of Lucio’s AOE abilities has been reduced from 30 to 10 meters.
Additionally, Lucio’s healing ability or rather healing-per-second has been increased by 30 percent. However, his ability of self-healing has been reduced by significant 25 percent. All of these changes were introduced to make Lucio more usable in actual gameplay. The changes were also introduced for the hero called Orisa, but not a lot has changed. The only feature with Orisa that changed is her head hit box has been reduced by 15 percent which should eventually make this hero significantly harder to kill.
New Playable Event
The new playable event will take players seven years in the past, and while playing this game mode, players will have the opportunity to use some of the heroes that we mentioned in the first part in order to save the streets of King’s Row from Null Sector. The new event will be packed with action, and the players will love it a lot. However, this event will be available only until May 1st.
The new patch from Blizzard Entertainment has also introduced some small changes to the Eichenwalde map. With the new patch, when playing this map, players will have the opportunity to use the new route. It would lead the attacking team towards the capture point. This new route enables players to reach the capture point much quicker than it was the case earlier.
The final change that the new Overwatch patch has introduced is related to Overwatch competitive play. With the new patch, Blizzard introduced Overwatch tracking system that will be used to break ties in cases when the matches on Hybrid and Assault maps finish in a draw. Before this patch, many Overwatch matches finished in a draw but with this update probability of matches ending in a draw will be reduced to a bare minimum.
With the new patch, Blizzard proved that they have understand the needs and wants of Overwatch fans and are willing to act on them. In general, these updates made Overwatch even more interesting and more importantly, they resolved some of the biggest issues that players from all over the world had before the new update.
