Olofmeister gets the Spot in the starting FaZe Clan Lineup

Vedran Ostojic | August 24, 2017 | Counter-Strike | No Comments

Olof ‘Olofmeister’ Kjajber is one of the biggest legends that ever participated in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive eSports competitions. Not that long ago, it was announced that Olofmeister will be leaving Fnatic and at that time it was not familiar where he will be continuing his career. That changed yesterday when FaZe Clan announced that they have signed Olofmeister.

FaZe Clan has been far from their best performances in the last couple of months and the pressure started to come down on players and on team’s management. As a response to bad results, FaZe Clan announced last week that allu has been benched in the team and that GuardiaN has joined the team and that he will be filling allu’s position.

Yesterday, FaZe Clan surprised everyone once again by officially confirming that Olofmeister has signed a contract and that he will be playing in the team instead of kioShiMa. At this moment, it seems that only NiKo is safe on the team while the remaining players are available for trade.

Benching KioShiMa

Fabien ‘KioShiMa’ Fiey has been playing in FaZe’s main roster during the last eleven months. He was a substitute support player but when the opportunity appeared, he showed his best skills and managed to grab the position in the team’s main roster. Now, it seems that his luck has run out as he will be returning to the bench while Olofmeister would take his place in the team.

KioShiMa has become a very good player in those eleven months and it is very hard to believe that one such player will be benched for a long time in a certain team. Because of that, many actually expect KioShiMa to leave FaZe Clan very soon and to join an organization that would guarantee him a position in the starting lineup.

Leaving Fnatic

Olofmeister has been a crucial player in Fnatic’s run back in 2015 when they managed to win two Major CS:GO tournaments in a row and those tournaments were ESL One Katowice and ESL One Cologne. At that time, Fnatic was by far the best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team in the world and many claimed that Olofmeister was the best CS:GO player in the world. Fnatic’s dominance did not last long as SK Gaming appeared and took the CS:GO world by storm.

According to Olofmeister, the reason why he left Fnatic was actually the lack of motivation and the fact that he wanted to experience something new in the world of CS:GO. Because of that, he believed that FaZe Clan, a unique CS:GO team in the world, will be able to reignite that fire in him.

FaZe Clan announced that Olofmeister will be making his debut for this team during the DreamHack tournament in Malmo that will be played from August 30th to September 3rd. FaZe Clan had a surprising exit from PGL Major Krakow when they were eliminated in the group stage where they suffered defeates in three matches while they failed to win a single match. Because of that, the new additions to the team will be under big pressure to perform well at DreamHack Malmo and other upcoming events.
