Jason ‘JasonR’ Ruchelski Steps Down from OpTic to Focus on Streaming

The fans of OpTic Gaming’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team have been shocked by the news from the team that said that Jason ‘JasonR’ Ruchelski will be stepping down from the team’s in-game leader position as he wants to focus more on the streaming, something that he did not have a lot of opportunities to do before.

The team has announced that James ‘hazed’ Cobb will be stepping in JasonR’s position. JasonR had the position before stepping down at least for the time being. OpTic Gaming will be participating at ECS Season 3 Finals shortly. This issue might be a big hit to their efforts to achieve a good result at this tournament. London, England is the venue for the upcoming tournament. OpTic will not have a lot of time to adjust to the new in-game leader. This definitely places a huge responsibility on hazed.

The Player’s Focus Shifts

According to Oscar ‘mixwell’ Canellas, another player from the team, one of the reasons why JasonR decided to step down from profession gaming is his belief that he would never become a permanent player in OpTic’s team. According to mixwell, JasonR lacks confidence in his skills. Apparently, the player believes that he is not good enough for the team and that because of that the team might decide to let him go at a certain point in the future.

Mixwell also said that JasonR is very good at streaming and for him, that seems to be the safe bet. Besides that, he makes solid money from his streaming, and that is why he sees security in streaming rather than in professionally playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

OpTic Gaming will be playing several tournaments in the upcoming month. JasonR believed that during that time his brand might suffer some consequences as he will be away for more than 30 days. This also seems to be one of the reasons why JasonR decided to step down.

OpTic fans are not known as not the most forgiving. Because of this, JasonR may suffer some consenquences. Namely, we may see a severe social media backlash against the player. After all, the fans see the team as more important than individual players. Nevertheless, JasonR’s fate remains his own to make.

OpTic Gaming Looking for a Replacement

James ‘hazed’ Cobb is set to replace JasonR’s at OpTic. Hazed already played this position back when he was a member of Counter Logic Gaming. Before stepping in as an in-game leader, hazed was serving as OpTic coach. With him returning to active play, the team will have to look for a new coach.

There has been no official statement from the team about this issue, but many are expecting that the team will also be releasing a statement before things get out of control with their fans. Besides that, the team will have to look for a new coach, and because of that, they will have to make an official statement in that regard.

Hazed’s first test in a new role will be at the ECS Season 3 Finals where they will be facing some of the best CS:GO teams in the world such as FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, Astralis, SK Gaming and several others. It will be interesting to see how hazed will handle this pressure because he has not played  for some time now.
