Immortals and KnG Under Massive Scrutiny

Vedran Ostojic | September 21, 2017 | Counter-Strike | No Comments

We saw the DreamHack Montreal championship come to end as Danish side North won the competition after amazing grand finale where they faced Immortals. However, their grandiose win wasn’t the thing that made the headlines, but it was the letter which caught the everyone’s attention in the esports industry. The team Immortals first arrived late to the grand finals, meaning that they forfeited the first map and gave the team North an early lead before Immortals lost the second by 19-9, so the Danes won the title. After the competition, Immortals CEO Noah Winston shared on his Twitter account that the every action should have consequence, and he thanked the DreamHack since they have followed the rules of the competition.

Immortals Players Late to the Team’s Match Against North

The team Immortals and its Brazilian roster and one of the star players, Vito kGn Giuseppe are facing massive criticism and they are under fire after players misconduct and map forfeit at recent DreamHack Montreal grand finale. By all accounts, the fans are very disappointed and they have the absolute right to be since the team, as well as its star player, showed late to the grand finale. There have been incidents both during and after the competition of this major gaming event. Several Immortal players were tardy to the grand finale in which the team faced Danish North. This resulted in Brazilian roster forfeited the initial map, and the team North was able to show their strength and amazing performance later during the final match as they won Cobblestone by 16-9. North has taken the title from the competition favorites Immortals. However, many North team members feel unsatisfied and they expressed their opinion that their win was absolutely undeserved.

kNg a Major Focal Point of Discussion

The Immortal players who were late to the grand finale are twins HEN1 Lucas and Tales and Immortal leading star kNg according to CLG’s coach Ryu Rattacasa. Following the grand finale, the fans expressed their opinion on their Twitter and Facebook accounts. Just after the match, Immortals star player kNg became a major focal point of huge discussion which took place on Twitter. It was reported that kNg threatened Pujan FNS Mehta who is CLG’s in-game leader. FNS expressed his opinion and criticized the roster following his team’s loss in semi finals where CLG was defeated by the Immortals. There was, even more, drama after several tweets from Ryu and FSN which obviously greatly upset kNg.

Immortals CEO Noah Whinston posted on his Twitter account a string of apologetic tweets where he stated that the issue will be addressed internally. We hope that the team was able to find a solution to this latest drama. We also hope that organizations which are involved will denounce any future unprofessional behavior when it comes to the social media. When it comes to this latest controversy, we have seen some furious Reddit users discussing several greatly heated as well as very controversial tweets by kNg about the Montreal incident. Many of those tweets were towards FNS Metha from CLG team, but he also expressed his opinion about the grand final match and great disappointment towards the organization of the competition. However, Immortals CEO stated that the team is thankful towards the organization especially when it comes to the following the rules of the competition. To conclude on this subject, we shouldn’t forget the fact that the team North has shown us an amazing game and they are the team which deserves the headlines since they were able to top Cloud9 and get into the grand finals and eventually wins the championship title. Therefore, all credit to the North for their latest trophy.
