Hearthstone Global Games: Canada and Romania Going Strong

Hearthstone Global Games: Canada and Romania Going Strong

Canada has been doing very well in the group stage of the Hearthstone Global Games so far. After their win in the first round of the group stage against France, Canada played against Belgium in the second round.  It was expected that it will be a much harder job for Canada. However in the end, it did not turn out to be the case. However, Canada was entering the second round match with a big problem. That was the fact that their roster has been significantly reduced. Some of the Canada players had to travel to LAN tournaments in which they had to participate. That meant that Julien ‘Cydonia’ Perrault and Ryan ‘Purple’ Root were the main players for Canada. Despite playing with the reduced roster, Canada managed to defeat Belgium. With that win, they once again proved that they are one of the biggest favorites for the first place at this tournament.

Un’Goro meta of Paladin

During the entire match, Canada played very well with the latest Un’Goro meta of Paladin. However, the only time when they were close to perhaps losing the game was when Hunter and Warrior were on Midrange Hunter playing against Quest Warrior from the Belgium side. However, Canada managed to turn that game to their advantage. They eventually managed to close that game with their win. Canada is now 2-0 in series and 6-0 in games. It makes them the biggest favorites for finishing in the top seed in their group.

On the other hand, Group B has been characterized as a group of death . Group B is featuring the United States, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Peru, and Romania. The United States, as the first favorite of the group, are already 2-0 after their win against the United Kingdom. However, the biggest surprise of the Group B is Romania. Romania has failed to win any of their matches so far. They are currently in the sixth place in the group with no wins and two defeats. Besides that, they managed to win in only one game. They were defeated in six. That is the worst record of all teams in the group.

Three LAN Champions

Romanian team is featuring three LAN champions. However they still did not win a match. Because of that, they are now in very serious problems. Romania does not have many options left available to them that they could use in order to finish the first two places. The only option that will bring them in a position to advance to the second stage is to win all their matches until the end of the group stage. However, Romania is yet to play against the United States.  It does not seem that they will be able to win in that match. However if they lose that match, they will be on their way home. Also all chances for them to advance will be destroyed.

As the action continues at the Hearthstone Global Games in Group B, we will be looking at Romania and the United Kingdom the most as they will be fighting to finish in the second place behind the United States.
