DreamHack Austin 2017 will be played on the last weekend of April, and it will be one of the strongest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments this year. On Wednesday, the organizers have announced the schedule of the play for this tournament as well as the groups. Only ten days are left before the start of this tournament, and the teams are now aware what they can expect in the group stage of DreamHack Austin this year. This tournament will feature eight teams from America as well as from Europe who will be competing for the prize pool of $100,000.
As we have said before, eight teams will be competing in the group stage of this competition, and six out of those eight teams have been directly invited to the main events by the organizers. Those six teams are Immortals, Heroic, Gambit eSports, G2 eSports, Cloud9, and Team Liquid. The remaining two teams, HellRaisers and SK Gaming, former Luminosity Gaming, had to go through open and closed qualifiers for the main event but in the end, they managed to win in those qualifiers and secure their place at the tournament that will be played in Austin, Texas.
The format of the competition will see these eight two teams that will be divided into two groups of four teams and each match of the group stage will be played on the best-of-one series. The Group A of the DreamHack Austin 2017 will feature HellRaisers, Gambit eSports, Heroic and SK Gaming (Luminosity Gaming). On the other hand, Group B will feature Immortals, G2 eSports, Cloud9, and Team Liquid. Looking at the teams from both of these groups it seems that the Group B will be a very tough group because of the teams that will face each other. However, that does not mean that Group A will not feature great matches because it will.
