Gambit Esports sign Fitch as Zeus’ Replacement

Vedran Ostojic | August 20, 2017 | Counter-Strike | No Comments

Gambit Esports has been enjoying their success at the PGL Major Krakow for a very short time. Just a couple of days after the won the Major, troubles in the team appeared and all hell started to break loose in the team. Problems appeared when the team management wanted to release kane, who was the team’s coach, from the team in order to bring a new coach.

However, their player Danylo ‘Zeus’ Teslenko did not like that idea and he stood up against that decision. However, considering that the atmosphere in the team was not that good even before that issue, other players turned their back on Zeus and kane.

The Ultimatum

In that kind of situation, Zeus did not want to see kane leave the team because they are good friends and they have been working together for a long time. Zeus considered that other players are sabotaging Mykhailo ‘Kane’ Blagin as the team’s coach and he decided to set up an ultimatum for the team when he said that if kane would leave the team he would also leave the team.

It seems that Gambit Esports did not think a lot about that ultimatum because it was announced just a couple of days ago that Zeus and kane would leave the team. Even though losing Zeus was a huge blow to Gambit Esports they did not want to create additional problems in the team with other players.

Zeus was an instrumental member of Gambit Esports’ CS:GO team in their effort to win the Krakow Major. Even though they, perhaps, are not the best CS:GO team in the world, they used weak performances of the biggest contenders in order to steal away the trophy. In that effort, Zeus was their best player and Gambit Esports had serious plans about building their entire team around this player.

However, they will have to find a new solution for their team now that Zeus has left the team and returned to his previous team, Natus Vincere. It did not take a long time for Gambit Esports to find a player that will be replacing Zeus in the team and today, they announced which player will be filling that position.

The Replacement

Today, Gambit Esports announced that Bektiyar ‘fitch’ Bakhytov will be joining the team instead of Zeus. Before joining Gambit, fitch played for Tengri but he was on loan with Gambit for the last couple of months. Now, Gambit Esports has announced that they have bought out his contract from his previous team, Tengri.

Fitch became the second player who joined Gambit Esports from Tengri. Just a couple of days after Gambit won the PGL Krakow Major in July, the team announced that Abay ‘Hobbit’ Khasenov will be becoming a permanent member of their team because they bought out his contract also from Tengri.

Even though fitch joined the team instead of Zeus, the team has not announced who will be taking the role of the in-game leader in their team. Besides that, the big question that everybody has at this point is whether fitch will be able to adequately replace Zeus in the team which is something that Gambit Esports officials must also worry about.
