The last couple of days have been filled with unexpected news coming from all sides of the eSports world. It is including the unexpected news about the changes to rosters of certain teams. However, the biggest surprise so far is coming from the Brazilian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, Immortals. They have announced that Lincoln ‘fnx’ Lau will no longer be competing with the rest of the team. However, the organization has not revealed what might be the reasons for such decision. Despite that, fnx is currently benched in Immortals while he waits for the interests of some other CS:GO team. However, the team has announced that Rafael ‘zakk’ Fernandes who is Immortals’ coach, will be stepping in and replacing fnx. The situation will remain until the team manages to find the adequate replacement.
Lincoln ‘fnx’ Lau
Lincoln ‘fnx’ Lau is one of the biggest stars in Brazil when it comes to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. His career has featured competitions in all three installments of the Counter-Strike franchise. Fnx’s career has been filled with successful. His best period was back in 2016 when he played for SK Gaming. During that time he and his team managed to win two Valve-Major championships. They won ESL One: Cologne Major as well as MLG Columbus. However, that period in his career can also be characterized as one of the worst periods ever. After winning those two titles, SK Gaming and fnx went on to the following tournaments. However they were not able to repeat the success they had at the already mention tournaments.
SK Gaming started losing matches that they should not have lost, and they failed to win even a single title from the moment they won their second Valve-Major until the end of that year. Because of that, fnx was released by SK Gaming as they were looking for a player that will help them get back on the winning path. However, after fnx left SK Gaming he joined Brazilian team, Immortals, and in the initial stages it looked like things are taking shape and fnx contributed a lot to the success that Immortals had in that period in the CS:GO competitions.
Imortals with Fnx
Immortals together with fnx looked good at the most recent competitions, and it seemed that Immortals will become one of the best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams in the North America. However, something went wrong in the meantime and despite having good results, fnx will have to look for the new team.
Because of that, many are speculating that bad performances were not the reason why fnx will leave the team. Many think that the reason is the relations in the team between the players and the team’s officials. This issue has even been confirmed by the team when they announced that fnx will be leaving the team. They also said that the problems in the relations in the team have started to affect their performance in the match that they were playing. Because of that, Immortals have decided that the best thing for the team as well as for fnx is for him to leave the team. Nothing has yet been revealed about the future team of fnx. However considering his experience he will not be long without a team.
