Fnatic Sponsors a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Map

Vedran Ostojic | July 12, 2017 | Counter-Strike | No Comments

Esports organizations from all over the world are doing different things to promote their brand. So far, no organization has attempted to create a map for CS:GO.  That is, until yesterday, when Fnatic announced that they have sponsored a new CS:GO map called surf_summer. The map will be available for download in a very short period of time.

The new map offers almost all aspects of the summer period like palm trees, sandcastles, a skate park, player lounger, as well as water park. According to the Fnatic announcement, the map will primarily be a practice ground for new players.

The surf_summer map

The new map is screaming ‘summer’ from each and single frame. As you enter the map, you will be riding waves, with happy music playing in the background. The first stages of the map are intentionally short, as you will notice.

The main reason for that is the fact that those, opening stages are there for the players to get used to the new map and to get familiar with all aspects of the map. In those opening stages, a player will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery that this map is providing in those shoots. Right at the start of the map, you will notice something like a flashback to the times when Fnatic was dominating the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitions and when they won the trophies at ESL One: Cologne and ESL One: Katowice.

Later stages of the map also bring in more typical aspects of the summer such as surfboards, ice creams, sunshine, popsicles and many other aspects. Throughout the entire map, a player has the opportunity to enjoy a huge range of colors which is not the case in many other similar maps. The main idea for this map was to create a map that will accommodate both, the beginners as well as advanced players who are looking for a more serious challenge.

For those more experienced players, the final part of the map will be interesting the most. The map allows all calibers of players to test their skills. In the final part of the map, players get to surf up and down water slides. At that moment, you will have to start making some quick decisions.

Availability

The surf_summer map is already available for the wider audience. It can be found on the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community workshop page. However, even though you can download it now, you will not be able to play it immediataly. The map will also provides a player with an opportunity to personalize their surf settings. These will make the gameplay as personalized as possible.
