Big Audience Expected At The MLG CWL Anaheim
|
The Call of Duty World League Major League Gaming Anaheim will be held this June, from 16th to 18th and it will be one of the most interesting COD tournaments this year. For many years, MLG’s CWL Anaheim has been one of the most popular Call of Duty tournaments in the world and this year’s prize pool of $200,000 will just make that popularity grow even more. The MLG’s CWL Anaheim will take place between two stages of the COD World League GPL for Infinite Warfare. Besides that, the CWL Anaheim will be the first major tournament in the North America since the CWL Dallas was held in March.
The format of the competition will see teams from North America, Europe and the region of Asia-Pacific heading to Anaheim where they will be competing for the title of the champion and if we are to judge on the announcements and the reports, fans are already very excited about this tournament. That is not the case only with the fans but rather with the organizers as well who are already saying that this will be one of the biggest Call of Duty esports tournaments this year if not in a longer period. The VIP set of tickets for the CWL Anaheim have already been sold out more than 80 days before the start of the tournament, and the people behind the event said that it seems that that number of people attending this event might be three times bigger than the one that attended the CWL Dallas.
Open Bracket Draws Nearly 200 Teams
At this moment, it seems that somewhere around 176 teams from all over the world will be competing in this event through the format of the open bracket as well as the pro pool play and the format of the double elimination champions that have already seen at some of the previous installments of this tournament. For those fans who planned to buy VIP tickets but who missed out on the opportunity, it needs to be said that there are some reports that say that MLG might be increasing and releasing another set of the VIP tickets for this event.
For those fans who are not interested in VIP tickets but rather for general admission tickets, it needs to be said that since the tournament will be held in more than two months, the organizers have not yet decided to sell the tickets. Because of that, those fans should keep an eye on all things related to this tournament in order not to miss out the tickets. Before the start of this tournament, fans will be able to see a lot of Call of Duty action because from April 14th to 16th, CWL Birmingham will be held where teams will be competing for the $50,000 prize pool.
Besides that, the CWL GPL will also be starting before the tournament in Anaheim, and the first matches of this league will be played from April 20th to 23rd. Besides these two events, there will be another tournament, and this time it will be held in Australia between 12th and 14th May where teams will be fighting for $30,000 prize pool. With that being said, MLG’s CWL Anaheim promises a lot, but there is a lot of Call of Duty action before the start of this tournament.
